Malaysia Pickleball League (MPL)
The Malaysia Pickleball League (MPL) is the name of the organisation that runs the Malaysia League. As a team, we organise fixtures, collate results, run events, present trophies and ensure competitive pickleball is played fairly by all clubs who participate.
We aim to promote a semi-competitive environment for enthusiastic pickleball players to play with their friends against others with similar skill levels. (Self-rated or official DUPR may be implemented in the future.)
League Disciplines
The league is divided into the following disciplines with a number of divisions for each discipline based on strength & performance:
- Men's Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
At this time, the league does not offer any singles/women’s doubles divisions, but if this is of interest, please let us know.
Home vs Away System
This league runs a ‘Home vs Away’ system, where every week there will be a league match. Depending on the schedule, you will either be playing a home game (your registered venue) or an away game (another team’s venue). Each league match will consist of the best of 3 matches between registered players.
Joining the Malaysia Pickleball League (MPL)
Any club can join the league as long as they meet certain requirements:
- Geographical location (KL and Selangor) - to ensure all clubs don't have to travel too far.
- Venue - all clubs must hire their own venue (sports hall, pickleball courts etc) and be able to host 'home' matches during our season.
- Registered players - all clubs must register all their players with the league.
To enquire about joining the league for the upcoming or following season, please contact us and submit a form on your club and participating members. All newly entered clubs will enter their team(s) at the lowest division for that discipline (unless the committee decides otherwise) and may work their way up through the divisions by finishing 1st or 2nd in the league table, earning promotion to the division above, subject to league rules.
